AllTrust Networks Data Sourcing

by Chuck Ullan on July 15, 2009

At AllTrust Networks, we believe in the power of data and are committed to sharing as much as possible, limited occasionally by competitive prudence for ourselves or our customers.

Data coming from the AllTrust Network refers to our core product, Paycheck Secure.  It is check cashing software deployed at over 2,000 locations across the U.S.  Major customer categories include:

  • Grocery Stores
  • Convenience Stores
  • Check Cashing businesses
  • Other retail locations

A consumer who wishes to cash a check at an AllTrust location enrolls by having both index fingers scanned, ID imaged, and a photo taken.  This process usually takes about a minute.

To cash a check, the procedure is simple

  1. Consumer scans one finger and is identified in the system
  2. Clerk scans the check through a reader and adds date and amount to software
  3. Paycheck Secure makes a recommendation to either approve, approve with a caution, or decline
  4. System calculates fees and tells clerk the amount of cash to disburse

The recommendation (Step 3 above) is a proprietary process based on our experience with that customer and maker.   As part of that process, the high-quality fingerprint image is matched against those for all previous returned items anywhere in the network, thus defeating repeat offenders returning with fake IDs.   All negative check and consumer information is shared across the AllTrust network for participating merchants.

Data is maintained at a secure facility and each participant has access to their store’s information via web-based reports.
