Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, CO
Down economy? Not here! Both the exhibitor hall and the Broadmoor hotel here in Colorado Springs were sold out and there’s been a good crowd at the show.
Today’s keynote speaker was Marc Morial, President and CEO of the National Urban League. His speech carried a theme of rising to meet challenges and helping future generations be better off.

Praise for FiSCA members on. . .
- Having a code of conduct (while urging all to take it seriously and follow it.
- Providing convenient, necessary services to urban customers
His challenge to FiSCA members
- Educate your customers
- Mobilize your customers to engage Washington
- Articulate message of providing good, decent services
The core issue: What do customers have to pay for access to money, credit, and financial services. He doesn’t want to see access to services cut off by regulation
He’d like the National Urban League to engage FiSCA members in two ways
- NUL can provide support for better financial education. Some good steps have been taken, but not enough
- Help increase African-American and Latino involvement in running/managing financial services businesses.
FiSCA conference updates on the regulatory winds for financial services businesses and payday lending are here.
